Done

DONE  (Lords Prayer part 5) SPANISH TRANSLATION BELOW

Luke 9-10 thy will be done

There are only two kinds of people in the end: those who say to God, “Thy will be done,” and those to whom God sadly says, in the end, “Thy will be done.”  CS LEWIS

Done is a pretty tough word.  In relationships with humans, it means the end usually. “We are done” is the way most break ups begin. Also with jobs, when your boss says “I am done”, you are pretty much out the door.

When we tell God “I am done”, He rubs his hands together with great joy and says, “Oh Boy!  Just what I’ve been waiting for. Let’s get started!”

God is a gentleman.  He patiently waits for His invitation ‘thy will be done’.  First step of the process is admitting that you can’t.  “I am done” means hat you are finished trying, and putting everything  into God’s hands.   “Thy will be done” is  right around the corner.

I have seen seen people with tubes up their noses, on their death beds thinking they are still in control. Fact is, none of us are in control, ever. The sooner we realize it, the better it is for our lives, the lives of those around us, and our spiritual lives.  It takes God’s love to love God, You can not even start to love God without Him controlling us by putting in a supernatural love for Him.   It is not possible to love God, nor to control your own life in a way that would have a positive ending. God’s will is done, whether we concede to Him or not.  He would much rather that we choose to serve His will, towards eternal life, than our will towards eternal death.

God is waiting for, and can not resist a person who is DONE. A person with no where to go, with no options, with no one to help him, God calls that a good place.  He really prefers plain obedience, but that doesn’t happen too much from my perspective.  He’ll take you anyway He can get you.

Psalm 107

10 Some sat in darkness, in utter darkness,

prisoners suffering in iron chains,

11 because they rebelled against God’s commands

and despised the plans of the Most High.

12 So he subjected them to bitter labor;

they stumbled, and there was no one to help.

13 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble,

and he saved them from their distress.

14 He brought them out of darkness, the utter darkness,

and broke away their chains.

15 Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love

and his wonderful deeds for mankind,

16 for he breaks down gates of bronze

and cuts through bars of iron.

DONE is a funny word, because the opposite is TRUE spiritually.

Isaiah 6:5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone;

That is the you prophet Isaiah talking to God right before he went to serve God.  He was speaking by worldly standards.   He was beyond done, he was “undone”.  God was happy because NOW He can use him.

Done by the world’s opinion and translation is the opposite in the spiritual realm.  We have to be UN DONEbefore God can  use us.  We have to see we are broken before we can be made whole.

I don’t think that none of us actually attain wholeness in this life, but we come closer the more we realize how undone we are.  We are all wrecks, just helping each other to limp along towards God’s glory. I have long ago stopped hoping that any one can guide me to truth without the Word of God and His Holy Spírit guiding me through loving Christian people.  Through Him, and realizing our failures, is the only way to an intimate and eternal relationship with God.

Jesus understood this when He completed the will of His Father on the cross of Calvary. In

Matt 26:42, Jesus was “negotiating” with His Father, and finally said “Thy will be done.”

Then He went faithfully to the Cross, obeying the will of His Father, getting it DONE!

John 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

We have to be undone before we can accept Jesus’ finished work on the cross, become saved, and truly say “thy will be done”

“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”

Psalms 46:10 KJV

**********IMPORTANT NOTE*********

I am 62, my wife Winnie is 40.  We have salary, no savings nor insurance, no safety net

I have prayerfully decided to take out 10% of what we get and put it into a stateside savings account so Winnie has something when I am gone.  She never raises support, so this will help her to keep PureHeartChildren’sFund and herself going until the Lord fixes things.

I say that to tell you that I can no longer say 100% goes straight  to the kids in Nicaragua, but 90% of your tax deductible donation still goes straight to the kids here in Nicaragua, which is still much better than most charities.

Just wanted you to know that.

I am open to comments and or suggestions

¡Empecemos!”

Isaías 6: 5 Entonces dije: ¡Ay de mí! porque estoy deshecho;
