The ‘happily optimistic, preferred expectation’

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Hope, as we usually use it,  and faith are different. While I love hoping for things, and love being around people who give me hope, it doesn’t come close to faith.   Faith is a free gift,  given to you by God, because it’s God’s faith, not ours.  Faith is dependability.  If someone says ‘I sure hope so’ it’s not a very secure feeling.  There is a spiritual type of hope that is very close to faith.  Faith is from God.  Faith is God’s possession that He passes on to us.

Mathew 11:22 says ‘Have faith in God’ but in the original text it says ‘Have the Faith of God’.

Better put, ‘the God kind of faith’.

Without God’s faith we can’t please Him.  We can not grow in faith, as many people say.  If God gave us a Mercedes Benz would He give it to us piece by piece?  Of course not.  He’ll give you the whole thing.  It’s the same way God’s faith.  What we need to grow in is our understanding and application of our faith, not grow our faith itself.  We study it, and use it, and we yield it better. Actually without God’s faith in us, we can’t even be saved.   God’s Faith is God’s power.  God’s faith and Jesus’ faith (God the Son) raised Jesus from the tomb.   God’s faith healed me from this operation.  Sure the tumor and prostate are gone, but to be frank, the doctor created a minor disaster area in there.   He took out the tumor, but God’s power actually healed me as I see the wounds caused by the doctor improve.  This same Faith/Power of God will pull our soul physically up to heaven.   Bible studies, thoughts, understanding, enlightenment, denominations, doctrines, dogmas nor ever prayers physically will take us to heaven.  Only God’s Power/Faith does.

Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hope, secularity speaking. actually does not require faith.  Hope is more simular to the worldly term ‘luck’.  As in ‘I hope I win’ and the come back is ‘good luck’’.  Nothing wrong or sinful.  Just basic English.   Good intentions and kindness, but no God.  Hoping that God will do something is like clapping. (My roots are kind of baptisty, so I can’t bring myself to clap to God in church.  I think clapping is to honor man, but a cheap way to honor Jesus).  Nothing wrong with it, I just don’t do it. Hoping people will do something is normal.  You never should hope God will do something. you should have Faith in His Word.  I made the mistake of hoping God would miraculously heal me of the -c- word but He chose to heal me another way.  Leading me to the spiritual meaning of ‘hope’.

There’s a wish type of hope (as talked about above). Usually comes out as a verb.  ‘I was hoping they’d like me’.

There’s a trust/reliability type of hope.  (Godly hope) A noun.  As in ‘Jesus is our only hope’. He is our hope and our future.  That’s why He has given us His faith. That’s why His faith held him on the cross at Calvary.

The Greek definition of HOPE (Hebrews 11:1)
is a certain expectation for a future event;
‘Now faith is the certainty of things hoped for, a proof of things not seen.’

Faith and hope (Godly hope that is) are basically intertwined.

I was hoping Jesus would heal me miraculously but I didn’t have confirmation from His Word.  We are to pray according to His Word for miracles to happen.  God’s only Word He gave me was that He is with me no matter what, but He didn’t show me anything about healing.

Romans 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.  That was Word He gave me, which is more than enough.
Here’s a video of me when I got out of surgery.

The Bible tells us that He answers prayers though, right?  What happened then?  Doesn’t it say thatvrig

Matthew 21:22 And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”

I prayed for a miracle. Y’all prayed for a miracle, no supernatural, what happened?  First off, it’s ok to hope, and to pray a prayer of hope expressing a desire.  God heard my prayers, but He didn’t tell me to pray for that. It was my idea.  I knew that, so I really wasn’t believing.  I was guessing.  It was ok. But I didn’t receive the way I was begging Him to.   Oh, by the way, God DID heal me, just not the way I wanted.

Our purpose at Pure Heart Children’s Fund is to teach the children to place their hope in Christ instead of hoping to win the lottery.
