Companies pay millions of dollars a year trying to keep young employees loyal, but they will never have loyal employees as long as they look for ways to fire people once they have a little seniority. Young employees are young, not stupid. When they see the company firing or forcing out older employees they know that when they are old the same thing will happen to them. So why be loyal to the companies? My advice, always have your resume up to date, because we are all expendable once we start costing too much.
Deuteronomy 31:6
New International Version
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for theLORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.
I am glad that God doesn’t subscribe to the accountant’s plan of saving time and money. God’s business model for the world is by example. He showed us what He did to the enemies of the past. We know how He treats those who love Him. He is and will be faithful even when we are not. God leads by example. His examples make it so easy for us to be Loyal to Him and to each other.
We can rejoice in His loyalty. We can go to places or situations that we would be crazy to go into without Him. We can do stuff that scares us when we know our master delights in it. It reminds me of the verse that says the name of the Lord is a strong tower, the name of the Lord is the Character of God… we can trust Him because of His example.
Proverbs 18:10
English Standard Version
The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.
Scary situations don’t only happen physically or because of bravery. Sometimes a scary situation is dumped on our head like 5 gallons of Gatorade on the head of thewinning coach of a football game. We are going along, happy, and then the word ‘divorce’, ‘cancer’, ‘lay off’ etc is said to us.
We weren’t looking for problems nor adventure, we were playing it safe! But now our world is in ruins, our life goals have vanished, it’s now a matter of life and death, we still have the tower of the Lord to run to.
Loyalty to God doesn’t mean being combative. It means commitment, like God’s commitment to us. Loyalty is freedom. We choose to be loyal to God. Yet, we can talk to people and listen to them with their ideas. We can talk to people and live with people who believe the opposite of what we believe. We don’t have to be angry with them if they don’t believe like us. We shouldn’t be angry, we should love.
Once we get upset, we have lost our testimony. Our loyalty is personal and intimate, between God and us. We don’t have to unfriend them, or walk away from unbelievers, but rather love them, because God loved them so much that He sent His Son to die for them on the Cross of Calvary. I believe if people get mad when defending their faith, it’s because their faith is weak. They are trying to convince themselves. I love it when people come by to share their faith with me, even when it is different than mine. I talk to them, it’s interesting. But strength and courage have nothing to do with anger and arguing. It means doing stuff, listening to stuff, going places that scare you, but doing what you know God wants you to do.
Our job here is to demonstrate God’s Loyalty to the children. He loves them. I would not be putting my family through this if He didn’t. He delights in us taking care of these children. He delights in people who take care of us. God is so good, and so loyal, even when we aren’t.
