Mothers

Happy Nica Mother’s Day

Winnie didn’t want to have her picture taken because she was sad (missing our own kids who are studying in the states). Jessica and Cindy, who basically were raised by Winnie, look at her as their mom. So they jumped in and saved the day.  Winnie has lots and lots of kids. Maybe over a thousand.

A pastor prayed over her many years ago and inferred that someday she would be the mother of hundreds of kids. Turns out that it was a prophesy.

Mothers

2 Timothy 1:5 I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also.

Paul was on death row.  However, he was thinking of the sincere faith of Timothy, and how it was handed down from his grandma, to his mom, to him.  That’s pretty amazing.  Even more impressive is that their faith wasn’t extraordinary.  It was just sincere. And Paul deemed it worthy in his last letter ever to mention it.

Mothers are great. Mothers are heroes.  Most mothers that is. Mothers are not only the kindest people I know, but some are the most evil and cruel people I know as well. Winnie and I have seen both extremes.   The cruel mother has no faith, or even worse, fake faith.

Winnie is the kindest person I have ever met, and life has not dealt her a kind hand. She has every reason to be cruel, but she walked into a church at 8 years old, got saved, and filled with Jesus’ faith.  Winnie has walked out this faith ever since, in spite of extreme poverty, homelessness, 2 wars, horrible home life, hunger, illness, betrayal, abandonment, ridicule and a million of other excuses.  Her sincere faith held her fast for the past 35 years.

Every time a group of young people walk by us they say ‘Hi Winnie’ all in unison. Whether in the dump or in the ghetto. I’m just Winnie’s fan, the ‘funding’ source. Winnie’s ministry is PureHeartChildren’sFund, it’s not mine.  It’s Winnie’s and God’s. Winnie makes it happen, I’m just an admiring facilitator.

Winnie is not just a kind mommy to her own kids, any heathen can be that.  Winnie is the kindest mommy I know of, to everyone and anyone. Lots of people treat her badly, especially ‘Christians in her home church, family, and the brethren’ for some reason.  Well I know the reason *Satan*  but she just keeps smiling, forgiving, loving and praying. The kids here love her, so do I.

What do we do. We protect babies here at PureHeartChildren’sFund.  I don’t care if they are mixed up emotionally or mentally.  I don’t care if their parents are bad.  I don’t care if they’re naughty or nice.  I don’t care what race they are.  I don’t care about their religion or beliefs. Red and Yellow, Black and White they are precious in His sight.  We love kids irregardless of anything.  We love kids with God’s Agape love.

We are basically a ‘mommy mission’ seeing how Winnie handles it all.  Men working with kids down here is a no no anyway.  And American Christian ONG’s lately are a no no  with the government, no matter what you are trying to do. God led me step by step all the way on how to establish PureHeart so we don’t have problems, and it’s worked great by now.  144 American missions have been sent packing, yet we find grace and mercy with them.

We are here to protect babies born in garbage dumps, for the glory of God.  All babies are good, not evil. People think babies that are born in poverty aren’t good.  Some believe any baby that isn’t their race, nationality or religion is not good.  Any one that doesn’t like babies has something wrong with them. They definitely don’t have the Spirit of God in them.

Isaiah 5:20 “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”

Although there are no abortions in Nicaragua, there are lots of the toddlers we work with that get prostituted. (which in my opinion is still murdering children, it’s just a slower and more painful death). That’s why we do what we do to protect them. If they are fed, they won’t do something bad to eat.  If they are going to school, they’re safe, at least for a couple hours a day.   That’s Winnie’s and my ‘mommy mission’ exists, to protect as many children from bad people as possible.

This horrible and challenging problem is where the term ‘#atriskbabies comes from. Right now everyone from a heathen Rock Star to stoner high schoolers fight to #savethechildren because it’s the  popular thing to do.  Helping kids out of bad situations and protecting them from animals looks cool. A fad, nothing more. Next week it will be #savethewhales or something even weirder.  The #savethechildren movement is just a passing phase to a permanent problem.

We’ve been saving the children,  #atriskyouth and babies from prostitution for over 30 years now. Bottom line is that mothers, and ‘mommy missions’ are basically in charge of shaping the world, if Jesus delays His return. #atriskchildren will soon make up the majority of the world population.  Imagine a world controlled by angry kids who grew up in garbage dumps and slums. Even if you don’t believe in God, that’s a scary thought. The cure, the solution, other than Jesus Himself, is faithful mommies like Timothy had.

Paul said he could see Timothy’s sincere faith. Sincere doesn’t mean great. Not huge, prolific or even more than usual. Just sincere. That speaks to me. My faith and Winnie’s faith isn’t great. We doubt and struggle every single day. Our prayer life needs drastic improving. Our  Bible studies are pathetic. I personally have a second or third grade reading level, probably even lower in Spanish. I’m old, fat and bald. About as charismatic as any other old white guy in his ‘golden years’ is. Half of my face is partially paralyzed ‘drew’s palsy’ from jumping into an ice cold river in Medellin Colombia after a long run on a hot day.  Correct pronunciation and expression are difficult even in english, let alone Spanish. No one will ever tell you that we have great faith, or skill. I do think everyone will tell you that we have sincere faith, though.

Winnie’s faith is much better than mine. How she survives every firefight in our lives leaves me baffled. Where I would rather just throw my hands in despair, she just plows our way through. Absolutely amazing.

Ecclesiastes 4:12. Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

Paul said it was obvious that Timothy’s faith was handed down from Tim’s granny to Tim’s mom to him. They weren’t heroes of the faith. They probably messed up big time as moms. Like all moms do. Like all of us do. Both were illiterate, they just believed in what they heard, the coming Christ! Jesus hadn’t even been born yet in their times. There was no Holy Spirit.  No Bible, even if they could read. Jesus hadn’t died on the cross yet. But they had faith in their Coming Savior.

Notice that Paul, although he was Timothy’s spiritual father, never took credit for Timothy’s faith. He developed upon Timothy’s faith that Tim already had. Timothy’s faith came from Jesus, like all of our faith does, but how? Through his mom and grandmother.

Kids do not learn faith by the long Bible studies and church leadership committees that the mom goes to. Not by mom constantly pouring over scriptures or constantly praying. Not because mom only talks to people who believe like she does. Although that may *or may not* help the mom to grow, kids learn faith by watching their moms go through stuff, and responding in faith.

Watching mom embrace the ‘suck’ without saying a word speaks volumes. The worst things get, and seeing how mommy responds, is better than hundreds of sermons on faith. Jesus teaches some kids faith through their moms, if the moms are believers. If they aren’t believers they teach their kids something else from someone else, and it will lead to eternity in hell.

This song ‘the widow with nothing’ really brings it home.
https://youtu.be/FSotD8zeE3U

It’s about the widow in the times of Elijah the prophet. She and her son were about to die from starvation but she gave her last little bit to Elijah out of sincere faith in God. She was blessed spiritually, physically and financially because of that act of faith. She was her son’s faith teacher when dad got sick, when she became a widow, when they were poor, when they were ridiculed, when they were hungry, and when they were dying. The son watched her go through all of that. Was she perfect? Nope! Was she sincere? Yep!! I bet that rubbed off on her son just a little bit.

2 kings 4:7 Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest.

The ‘widow with nothing’ soon had everything that mattered, and definitely lived happily ever after because they believed in the coming Christ.  Most stories I read growing up said, ‘and they lived happily every after’.  Now I know that they probably did, none of them, because most of the ‘happily ever after’ stories aren’t about Christians.  If you don’t have sincere faith, there is no ‘happily ever after’ for you, and probably not for your kids.

Winnie has been a great example of faith to every kid, her own 2 kids, as well as hundreds of other kids.

Whether they appreciate it not right now, the fruit of her womb is blessed. Whether they know it or not, they learned faith, and it will always be tucked away safely in their little brains.  It’s not just an hour on Sunday mornings that moms teach faith, but every day, 24/7/365

ISAIAH 55:11. so shall My word be that goeth forth out of My mouth: It shall not return unto Me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

SO, WHAT´S NEW AT PUREHEART?

School, feeding centers, daily discipleship and English class are in full swing.  In the English class we are focusing on pronunciation and understanding to get them to pass the test to get a job at a call center.  There is nothing worse than being gramatically correct, and not being understood.  In discipleship class we are going through the Bible again, verse by verse. Just finished Revelation and are back in Genesis.  I always learn more than the disciples, haha. Hopefully they develop a life time habit of reading the Bible.

PRAYER REQUESTS, all in all the same.

1. Government wise, everything is in a paid and redone, we are just waiting for the next step.

2. FOR THE ORPHANAGE THAT I KNOW IS IN OUR FUTURE. NOT ONLY AN ORPHANAGE, BUT AN OLD FOLKS HOME AS WELL. I THINK THE TWO CAN BE SIDE BY SIDE ON THE SAME PROPERTY, IT’S ONLY A MATTER OF MONEY. IT WOULD BE A BLESSING TO THE OLD FOLKS TO HEAR KIDS PLAYING, AND IT WOULD BE A BLESSING FOR THE KIDS TO HAVE ABUELAS AND ABUELOS.

5. AMERICA!
