Jer 30:17 For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD
God’s character is to restore sinners. Satan’s character is to kick anyone and everyone to the curb. Even worldly people who know nothing about the Lord seem to know and understand this. Yet many pastors, churches and it’s members tend to kick people to the curb at the first hint of problems.
Pastor Steve Madsen came down from Cornerstone Church in Livermore California this week to restore the Nicaraguan pastors down here to the joy of the Lord that they had when they first got saved. I was dubious. The country is divided by politics, and churches are divided by dogma y doctrine. Individuals are separated from God and each other by sin. Yet we had right wingers and leftists, Baptists and Pentecostals, faithful believers and weak, backslidden Christians down here worshipping God side by side for a wonderful 3 days. I didn’t think it was possible but he pulled it off. God heals! He restores both our health and our wounds. Spiritually, physically and emotionally if you let Him.
Some things have to happen to be restored. People don’t just wake up one morning restored just like they don’t wake up one morning in need of restoration. It’s all a process.
1. You have to believe He can restore you.
Joel 2:25. And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten.
You know God can restore you because He said He could!
2. You have to want to be restored.
Psalm 51:12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me
You can even ask to want to be restored if you aren’t feeling it.
3. You have to repent of what caused problems in the first place.
Psalm 139:23-24. Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
If we need to be restored it’s because we were being led astray either by out own thoughts of influences of others. You have to be humble enough to recognize it. Let God show you.
4. Receive help and prayer (a humbling event) Let others (that you trust) help you.
Galatians 6:2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
Being out of fellowship (even if no one *including you* knows you’re in trouble) is a heavy load. Let others help you to carry it.
James 5:16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed.
At PureHeartChildren’sFund we also mirror God’s desire restore to the kids, the homeless, and to anyone. We don’t really go after the churched because they have their pastor. We are attracted to the unchurched as a ministry, but it was sure great to minister to these humble pastors as well.
Matthew 7:12 To do unto others as we would have others do unto us
The first step is always the restoration of our relationship with God. Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth and you will be saved.
John 3:3, KJV: Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God
PRAISE REPORT AND PRAYER REQUEST AT THE SAME TIME.
I was told I have very aggressive cancer somewhere and it looked like it was doubling in speed because that’s what my psa was doing (might have missed something in the translation). I needed a PET asap (only available in the USA) and the sooner they knew exactly where it was at, the sooner they could radiate it. Lots to take in. Plus he said I needed to do it right away, really urgent and timing was critical.
On the way home, doing all the frantic texting (which is my hallmark) I got out of the taxi, in a daze. I was hungry, tired, demoralized. Then I realized I left my cel phone in the taxi. All my identity was in it. My cel phone has a wallet shoe glued to it with my credit cards (well debit), drivers license, and cedula (nica residency) was gone. Called and called the cell finally he picked up. Said he would bring it by in a few hours. Well 2 hours later he doesn’t show up. Now. He’s not answerring calls. Now phones dead. That’s it! I thought to myself.
So I drove to the police station hoping they could track down my phone (I had the locate feature on). Not a chance, they didn’t even know what I was talking about. I had nothing to go on. No license number. Nothing.
I was praying to God the whole time about my new little -c- scare. Christians today shouldn’t lay out fleeces like they did in the Old Testament. But I was desparate, and doubting. By the way I praise God for my wife, Winnie. She really rose to the occasion and comforted me. But I said God, it’s late now.
The chances of getting my phone, and my debit cards, and my identification were getting worse by the moment. I said “God, if you are going to heal me of my little -c- thing again, please show me by the miracle of the taxi driver giving me back my stuff’.
Now I am at the all but empty police station with two policemen busting my chops over driving without a license and wanting to confiscate the only car we have that works. Winnie was at home watching the phone and being there in case the guy shows up.
I was calm and collected, doing my mindfulness breathing techniques, talking quietly in tongues, while the police drilling me. We called winnie to pick me up but like I said, she had no car. And now it was like 9 pm. So she Couldn’t come and get me. So they were slowly becoming friendlier with me.
Then winnie calls. Yay winnie! She said the taxi driver brought my stuff back. I told her to kiss him for me. She said no! Haha.
Praise Jesus
Prayers still work, and God’s still on the throne
