Praise God!! I’m home. Happy to be back in Nicaragua, the ministry, the kids and most of all Winnie. Mixed emotions though. Amazing how my soul has cleaved to these cranky old vets and the staff as well in the rehab center.
God is good.
Anxious/Anxiety
Philipians 4:6-7 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Many translations put in BE ANXIOUS for nothing, but that’s not right. I am anxious for many good things. Anxious as in looking forward to things, like yesterday coming home to Winnie God wants us to hand our anxious thoughts over to Him. He has our lives and our futures in His hands. Anxiousness has very little to do with being afraid many times. Sure, sometimes, but that is Anxiety. When you hand your anxious thoughts (good) and even anxiety (bad) over to the Lord, you know it will all work out.
Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Sure, sometimes anxiousness is mixed with anxiety. My son is in flight school. I am anxious to see him graduate, but the costs, and the risks give me anxiety. I have found that when I worry, it’s prayer to myself, and to all the things that could go wrong. When I pray with confidence to the Lord, I feel peace. Nothing can separate us from the love of God. Not even the future. God loves us. He is with us. Always. That helps greatly with anxiety.
Romans 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Anxious thoughts that make you go to the Lord are good because there is a solution and hope. Anxiety is bad. Anxiety is sin because it’s fear based.
