“ Crickets” KJV. Not Biblical. Not even a very old word.
“Empathy, a made up, new-age leftist politician word” Charlie Kirk
Empathy. Last time I heard that word, I was being fired from a fortune 500 (downsized from GE Money actually). It ever seemed like a sincere word to me.
Now, all the evil people (all of which undoubtedly voted to kill babies as well) were celebrating his death on social media, one spewed ‘he gets no empathy from me because he didn’t like that word’.
Ever notices how that party only spits out angry words? They need Jesus!! But It’s true! Charlie didn’t like the word empathy, and I didn’t either, long before Charlie mentioned it. Not because I was told by someone not to like that word. Just never liked it. Always sounded hollow and political to me. It’s a fortune 500 word to make big shots in politics and business appear to be sympathetic, but really aren’t. S.E.R.E. teaches that the best way to lie effectively is to use words that sound like the truth.
Empathy is a false business word which is only cold, logical, un-spiritual to make you APPEAR like you feel sorry for someone. It’s motivated for votes or to avoid lawsuits only, but NOT sincere.
Kind of like looking at a guy you’re firing, a child that is hungry or a mentally ill person, and putting yourself in ‘their shoes’ for a couple of minutes before you can escape that ‘awkward ‘ moment. Only long enough to give the impression that you even care. It is dishonest.
Movie stars use empathy for their roles. Their crying or laughing look real because mentally they have put themselves into a false mindset of actually being sad or happy. Al Paccino would do it so intentionally that once he pulled a poor guy over for speeding when he was role acting and in character for ‘Serpico’. He actually thought he was a cop.
Empathy is not real. It’s forced. I’ve seen preachers use it, as well as missionaries, short term and long term. A cheap, counterfeit (satanic imitation?) for the real word from God, the word COMPASSION OR SYMPATHY. Satan always uses counterfeits to try to match God.
Sympathy (Compassion) is when you actually feel sorry for the guy you are firing, baby that’s hungry or the mentally ill. You take those feelings home with you. You TRY to find a solution. Empathy will make you ACT like you are trying to help the fired guy, feed the baby or facilitate the crazy guy by going along with his delusion, but it’s all a show.
When you go on a short term mission trip, and if you’re a Christian, the things you see WILL trouble your soul long after you go home. You won’t be able to sleep at night. You’ll wish you could talk to the people you left behind. You’ll wish you could help them. Sympathy means you want to help God to help others.
The concept of sympathy is expressed through verses like 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 “Blessed be God… the God of all comfort; who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble…” and Psalm 34:18 “The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit”. No ‘acting’ here.
Sympathy and Compassion is REAL Christianity, not just a vacation from reality. It’s all in or nothing. You don’t leave compassion in the office when you go home at night. You don’t leave sympathy for the dirty little beggar kids when you come home from a mission trip. You WILL leave empathy though, if you don’t have Jesus in your heart.
Most Christians have more empathy than sympathy unfortunately. You actually TRY to help people for the rest of your life if you have compassion for them, instead of getting angry with them for writing to you and asking you for a couple bucks.
Empathy is a worldly fake word, used by worldly and fake people. Big company leadership conferences TEACH empathy. Sympathy and Compassion are REAL emotions, and can’t be taught, like humility. Compassion is real love. Don’t be a fake ‘empathizer’. You don’t have to act like you really care about someone if you have the love of God shed abroad in your heart.
Ephesians 4:32And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
