1 Corinthians 13:13 “And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.”
Until recently, I thought hope and faith was the same. They all come from God, all three of these gifts are from God.. They are all characteristics of a True Follower of Jesus. They are intertwined. You can’t have God’s kind of faith if you don’t have His love and hope.
1. It’s God’s Hope:
Romans 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

3. It’s God’s Love:
Romans 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
God’s Hope and God’s love are essential to have the faith of God, and visa versa. LOVE is the centerpiece. Faith and hope rotate around God’s love. Funny the KJV uses the word charity instead of love. That’s because God’s reckless, unabandoned love is earmarked by charity, which is my image joyful giving. Charity (accompanied by faith/hope) and grumpiness are polar opposites. You can be grudging, or charitable, but you can’t be both.
What is the Difference between faith and hope? Faith is NOW, hope is in the future. Present tense or future tense. Faith is the present tense. Hope is the future tense. Hope is worthless without faith because as it says in
Hebrews 11:1 “Faith is the substance of things Hoped for”. Without hope there is no substance. It’s just wishful thinking. For the unbeliever, all they have is hope. They think they have faith but they don’t. They also have no real reason to hope. Without Jesus, there is no hope.
If you are spiritually fighting something in your life (almost everything is spiritual, I believe), you better be in the here and now. Just hoping and wishing can will kill you. You have to pray and believe in the present tense. RIGHT NOW FAITH is what you need. Salvation and healing are received by RIGHT NOW faith, not by hoping for something .
1 Peter 2:24 Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, (past tense) that we, being (present tense) dead to sins, (now saved) should live unto righteousness …by whose stripes ye were healed (past tense). Present tense says we are healed and saved by something that happened in the past. But we need RIGHT NOW faith to receive both of them. Incidently, it’s a lot harder to get saved than to be healed in my opinion.
Hope is beautiful, but misunderstood and misused. You shouldn’t hope while you are praying, it won’t work. Hoping is like polite, respectful begging. God wants us to have faith when we talk to Him. He wants us to have hope as well, but it’s different. He has given us the Blessed Hope in His soon return. That is from God. The resurrection of the righteous from the dead is another hope (Jesus’ resurrection is NOT a hope because we know that happened). The hope of heaven is fantastic. My favorite hope is seeing Jesus face to face, and to help as many others to meet Him in Glory as well,. The Bible calls it the Hope of Glory. Colos 1:27 . We thank God for that hope. It keeps us going. Hope, faith and love are all necessary.
Hope has another word in the Bible. It means wait. They that wait upon the Lord . Isaiah 40:31 has been translated in other texts as they that HOPE in the Lord. Hope is very strong, and a great waiter, but nothing more than that. If you’re hoping and praying for something you are probably already defeated. Grab faith, a completely different function that God gave to us to use, but we very rarely do. Faith is the gift God gave us to get off of our butts and to do something. Hope, is to keep us focusesd and still, from bouncing around. A doubleminded man in unstable in all his ways.
I think the opposite of hope is uncertainty. Hope is strong, and equally important as faith and love. Hope is our steadiness and steadfastness.
Hebrews 6:19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast.
Hope is a strong confidence, it is a heaven sent virtue, it is humble, it’s a gentle stance but we need to be more proactive. The difference between hope and faith can literally a matter of life and death.
Hebrews 4:16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Hope is what we give to the children of PureHeart. It’s a good start. Without hope we are lost. The next logical step is teaching them faith, but without hope it is impossible for them to grasp faith. Pray for us, as we give them hope and teach them to have faith in Jesus..
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Esperanza
1 Corintios 13:13 “Y ahora permanece la fe, la esperanza, la caridad, estos tres; pero la mayor de ellas es la caridad “.
Hasta hace poco, pensaba que eran lo mismo. Todos vienen de Dios, los tres son de Dios impartido al hombre. Todas son características de un verdadero seguidor de Jesús. Y están entrelazados. No puedes tener el tipo de fe de Dios si no tienes Su amor y no tienes Su esperanza.
La esperanza es de Dios:
Romanos 15:13 Ahora, el Dios de la esperanza los llena de gozo y paz al creer, para que abunden en esperanza, por el poder del Espíritu Santo.
La fe es de Dios:
Romanos 3: 3 … la fe de Dios
El amor es de Dios:
Romanos 5: 5 Y la esperanza no se avergüenza porque el amor de Dios se derrama en nuestros corazones por el Espíritu Santo que nos es dado.
La esperanza de Dios y el amor de Dios son esenciales para tener la fe de Dios, y viceversa. AMOR es la pieza central. La fe y la esperanza giran alrededor del amor de Dios. Es curioso que la Biblia use caridad en lugar de amor. Esto se debe a que el amor radical de Dios está destinado a la caridad, dar con alegría. La caridad (acompañada de fe / esperanza) y el mal humor son polos opuestos. Puedes estar enojado o caritativo, pero no puedes ser ambos.
¿Cuál es la diferencia entre la fe y la esperanza? La fe es AHORA, la esperanza está en el futuro. Tiempo presente o futuro. La fe es el tiempo presente. La esperanza es el tiempo futuro. La esperanza no tiene valor sin fe porque, como dice en Hebreos 11: 1 “La fe es la sustancia de las cosas que se esperan”. Sin esperanza no hay sustancia.
Si estás luchando espiritualmente contra algo en tu vida (creo que casi todo es espiritual), será mejor que estés aquí y ahora, la esperanza te matará. Tienes que orar y creer en el tiempo presente. AHORA MISMO, FE es lo que necesitas. La salvación y la curación son recibidas por la fe AHORA MISMO, no por la esperanza de algo.
1 Pedro 2:24 Quien Él mismo pegó nuestros pecados en Su propio cuerpo en el árbol, (tiempo pasado) para que nosotros, (tiempo presente) muertos a los pecados, (ahora salvos) vivamos para la justicia … por cuyas llagas ustedes fueron sanados (tiempo pasado). El tiempo presente dice que estamos curados y salvados por algo que sucedió en el pasado. Pero necesitamos AHORA MISMO la fe para recibir a ambos. En mi opinión, es mucho más difícil salvarse que curarse.
La esperanza es hermosa, pero mal entendida y mal utilizada. No esperes mientras oras, no funcionará. Esperar es como una mendicidad respetuosa y educada. Dios quiere que tengamos fe cuando le hablamos. Pero Él ha dado la Bendita Esperanza en el pronto regreso. Eso es de Dios. La resurrección de los justos de entre los muertos es otra esperanza (la resurrección de Jesús NO es una esperanza porque sabemos que realmente sucedió). La esperanza del cielo es fantástica, mi esperanza favorita es ver a Jesús cara a cara. Agradecemos a Dios por esa esperanza. Nos mantiene en marcha. La esperanza es un gran camarero, pero nada más que eso. Si esperas y oras por algo, probablemente ya estés derrotado. Creo que lo opuesto a la esperanza es certeza, confianza. Es humilde, es una postura gentil, pero debemos ser más proactivos. Es literalmente una cuestión de vida o muerte.
Hebreos 4:16 Entonces acerquémonos al trono de gracia de Dios con confianza, para que podamos recibir misericordia y encontrar gracia para ayudarnos en nuestro tiempo de necesidad.
La esperanza es lo que damos a los niños de PureHeart. Es un buen comienzo. Sin esperanza estamos perdidos. El siguiente paso lógico es enseñarles fe, pero sin esperanza les es imposible captar la fe. Oren por nosotros.
