I love the phrase wwjd. Theologians and the religious are now scoffing at this phrase. But the wwjd guidelines are what I follow in my daily life. Without the pressures of family and ministry on the mission field, I would still joyfully bounce around doing what I perceive Jesus would do. Even with the added ministry and family, my daily guideline is wwjd. If I’m on the way to an appointment, and I see a problem, relationships and people always come before an agenda. In seminary, I ignored a brother in need because I was late for a final exam in the book of John. I vowed to never again let an opportunity to help another person slide because of a religious obligation.
Today, we’re talking about what Jesus would not do.
That’s a whole other philosophy, that I need to apply ever more so.
I could give you verse by verse, but I want you to look it up for yourselves to prove me wrong
What Jesus did not do when He was on the earth
did not judge
did not beg
did not chase
did not try to convince
did not quit
did not give unsolicited advice unless He preached
did not waiver
did not doubt
did not question
did not preach tolerance
did not ok any sin for any circumstance
did not use the word sinner
did not sleep a lot
did not mention race or skin tone
did not condemn
did not refuse to heal when asked directly
did not talk bad about people behind their backs
did not defend Himself
did not run
did not say He was Joseph’s son
did not compromise
did not take a vacation
did not deny that He was God’s Son
did not deny that He was God
did not ‘save’ a lot of people when He was with us
did not quiet his enemies
did not wink at sin
did not distinguish sins. All sins are ‘mortal’ sins
did not worship His mom, nor tell us to

did not bow down to fear
did not talk a lot unless it was important

did not worship any thing but God the Father

did not need to be saved
did not worship saints or prophets
did not commit idolatry

did not get into political discussions
did not disobey the government (ie taxes)

did not renounce His authority
did not see Himself as a soldier or crusader

did not use sarcasm
did not cause strife about the non-spiritual things
did not seek revenge
did not worry
did not plan or scheme, just followed the Father
did not panic or stress out
did not have a back up plan because He trusted Dad
did not fear working hard
did not have a degree
did not have riches
did not have immunity from temptation or pain
did not worry about finances
did not get angry about non-spiritual things
did not evade dying
