Kiss cams
I wonder how many people are praying for the two suffering guys on the kiss cam scandal from last week? I am surprised at how many of my Christian brothers and sisters are thoroughly enjoying this train wreck. I don’t know the details of any of it except that a couple was having an affair and got caught. No idea where, I don’t care actually, but I do know that dozens of lives were destroyed by it. It might have even gone unnoticed if he didn’t panic and try to duck out of it.
Fact is, all of us have sinned, all of us (even those who are enjoying the shame of these two). We all have had those ‘kiss cam moments’ at least once in our lives where we didn’t want the public to see our sneaky sins. Do you know that the expression ‘shame on you’ isn’t from the Holy Spirit? It’s satanic. All have sinned and fallen short of the kingdom of God.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
All have sinned! Not some. If anyone says that they have no sin they are calling God a liar. Also, just saying that they have no sin is lying, which is a sin in itself.
I just found it fascinating how a world of sinners gleefully turned on a couple of sinners. Our self-justification could be ‘although we sinned too, at least we repented!’ The couple that was caught on the kiss cam seemed pretty repentant to me as well. How do we know that they only repented because they got caught?
We are saved by grace, meaning we are saved in spite of our actions. Being saved by not sinning is works. Works don’t work. We don’t sin anymore after we are saved because we are saved and love Jesus. That means if we could go to hell by one little unrepented of sin, we are ‘earning’ our salvation.
I wonder how many of the ‘saved by the miraculous grace of God crowd’ who rejoiced that ‘the adulterers got caught’ actually prayed for the two.
I am guilty of the same thing. I say ‘well, at least I didn’t do that’. Jesus said if we even just thought about doing it, GUILTY! ‘Well, at least I repented!’ DID I REALLY REPENT? ‘Well, at least I love Jesus!’ DO I REALLY?

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
GRACE CAMS. Fortunately when we as born-again believers have a ‘kiss cam’ moment of sin and guilt, God’s grace covers it. We don’t try to duck our way out of it. We go to God for mercy. God cuts out the bad parts if we are saved under His blood. Any sin God chooses to forgive immediately, remembering it no more. We keep falling, dusting ourselves off, and continue the race.
Proverbs 24:16-18
16 For a righteous man may fall seven times
And rise again,
But the wicked shall fall by calamity.
17 Do not rejoice when your enemy falls,
And do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles;
18 Lest the Lord see it, and [a]it displease Him,
And He turn away His wrath from him.
