Relaxing is important. Prayer is CRITICAL for any believer. BUT the word relax, like pray, is a word that sounds nice, but is usually abused. Lazy people love to tell others to relax. Also. they love to avoid making a decision or not engage by saying that they will pray about actually doing something. That would be great if they did, but it is sometimes a spiritual sounding way to procrastinate. I tend to gag when people tell me to relax, or when they say they can’t help someone or serve someone because they have a prayer meeting to attend or some other holy sounding thing..
My friends from Vida Abundante in Aguas Calientes came to see us, Pastor Gordon Wilmot noticed I was pretty wound up. I expected him to tell me to relax… but instead he told me something much more valuable. He gave me this verse to ponder,,1 Peter 5 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
That counsel really took the heat off. Here is my take on it, Lots of things bother me. I recently heard Bill Gates say that there was absolutely nothing that bothered him. I thought to myself ‘There is NO WAY he can be a Christian’. I am no one to judge if he is or he isn’t, but this verse shows me that you can be like that and still honor God. Things like ISIS killing children, child prostitution and worldwide poverty SHOULD bother us, right? WRONG! We should work fervently to stop those evils, but worrying and being bothered is not part of the solution. Non-believers have that department well under control.
The fact is, Bill Gates is a famous philanthropist. He throws a lot of money at world problems. He does things to solve problems instead of being bothered by them. So, although certain things bother every normal human being in the world, only a miniscule of them are even willing to even consider doing anything about it. Sending happy thoughts, visualizing positive things and praying when you can actually be doing something is just a cop out. The best cure for bothersome thoughts is action. Action is how I relax. Just don’t sweat it if you can’t complete your daily ‘TO DO LIST’. Do what you can in a way that honors God, and in a way that He can bless you and others in the process.
Give what you possess. It can be talent, networks, time, money and resources. Don’t talk about doing it, just do it. Also, Pray! (While actually doing something) The Lord will fill you with joy as you serve others. We all should be praying without ceasing anyway…and then, RELAX… God will handle the rest… do what you can, and DON’T worry about the things you cannot do, nor the results, God is perfectly capable of handling things.

Es bueno relejar. Aun mejor orar. Pero a veces, relájese, como orar, es una palabra que suena bien, pero por lo general se abusa. La gente perezosa les encanta decir a los demás ‘relax!’. También, les encantan evitar tomar una decisión o no participar diciendo que van a orar. Eso sería genial si lo hicieran, pero a veces es una excusa espiritual para posponer las cosas. Tiendo a amordazar cuando la gente me dice RELAX, o cuando dicen que no puedo ayudar a alguien o servir a alguien, porque tienen una reunión de oración o alguna otra cosa que suena santo ..
Mis amigos de Vida Abundante en Aguas Calientes vinieron a vernos, Pastor Gordon Wilmot notó que estaba bastante tenso. Yo pensaba que me iba a decir RELAX! … pero en vez me dijo algo mucho más valioso. Él me dio este versículo para reflexionar ,, 1 Pedro 5: 7 Echando toda vuestra ansiedad sobre él, porque él tiene cuidado de vosotros.
Este consejo realmente me ayudo. Aquí está mi opinión sobre ella. Existen un montón de cosas que me molestan. Hace poco escuché a Bill Gates dice que no fue molestado por absolutamente nada en el mundo. Me dije a mí mismo: “No hay forma de que pueda ser un cristiano”. Pero, este versículo me demuestra que se puede ser así y todavía honrar a Dios. Cosas como ISIS asesinando niños, la prostitución infantil y la amplia pobreza en el mundo nos debe molestar, ¿verdad? No! Debemos trabajar para detener esos males, pero siendo molestado no es parte de la solución. No creyentes tienen ese departamento bajo control.
El hecho es que Bill Gates es un famoso filántropo. Él lanza una gran cantidad de dinero a los problemas mundiales. Él hace cosas para resolver los problemas en lugar de ser molestado por ellos. Así que, aunque ciertas cosas molestan cada ser humano en el mundo ,, sólo existe una minúscula de ellos están aún dispuestos a considerar la posibilidad de hacer algo al respecto. Enviar pensamientos felices, visualizando las cosas positivas y rezando cuando en realidad se puede estar haciendo algo es inútil. La mejor cura para los pensamientos que se molestan es la acción. La acción es cómo me relajo. No se preocupe si no puede completar su ‘TAREAS’ apuntadas. Haga lo que pueda de una manera que honre a Dios, y de una manera que él te puede bendecir y los demás en el proceso.
Da lo que posees. Puede ser talento, redes, tiempo, dinero y recursos. No hables de hacerlo, hazlo. Asimismo, ruega! (Cuando en realidad hacen algo) El Señor te llenará de gozo al servir a otros. Todos deberíamos estar orando sin cesar de todos modos … y luego ,,, RELAX … Dios nos encargaremos del resto … haz lo que puedas ,, y no se preocupe por las cosas que no puedes hacer, ni los resultados , Dios es perfectamente capaz de manejar las cosas.
