Habakkuk 2:2 write the vision and make it plain
Bible scholars love to accuse me of taking the Bible out of context. While I know the original story that he was writing was a vision of his people being attacked, it also applies to me today as well. Most of the Bible actually. We are called to be doers of the Word, not hearers only. I have been told many things by the Bible, extremely relevant to my daily Christian life and work as a Christian Missionary. Some things written 2000 years ago may have saved my life and the ministry just a few years ago. As I said, the Bible is a two-edged sword. It explains the context of dogma, doctrine and Biblical history as well as giving me a wakeup call today and helps me with my situational awareness. Today the Bible told me to write the vision, again.
I write my vision down about once a year. People have been asking for it again. No problem. It refreshes me and gives others the idea to run with it. It’s the same as it was 30 years ago. (July was my 30th anniversary of working with at-risk children). At-Risk children refer to poor children at-risk of prostitution and gangs, exactly what the ‘freedom’ movie is talking about. #savethechildren and #childrenarenotforsale is nothing new to Winnie and me, we’ve been preaching it for 30 years. Now people are becoming aware, and maybe this horror will get more attention and assistance. I pray so.
Matt. 28:19-20 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always
Basically that is what we’ve been doing for the past 30 years. Going and making disciples. The casual, disinterested observers will say ‘Roger is the only disciple we made in 30 years’, because he’s our poster child. First, I didn’t make him a disciple, Jesus did. He just used me a little along the way. Secondly, even IF Roger was the only disciple we made in 30 years, TOTALLY WORTH IT! Third, we actually have thousands of success stories. Practicing Christian doctors, dentists, police officers, lawyers, teachers, nurses, engineers, our staff, housekeepers, wives, husbands, parents etc. All a result of Winnie and I as instruments of God to impact thousands of lives for the honor and glory of Jesus Christ. The fact that I usually just talk about Roger is that he got blown up by a hand grenade. There was no shameful act in that horrific accident, it was another day in life at the dump. However, the rest of these success stories come from at-risk, or shame filled backgrounds. That’s why I don’t parade them. They’re still not wanting to talk about their pasts, so we help them to look forward.
We have successes, of course, and even though we do what we can with the resources we have, The Lord has shown us the possibilities that we can do so much more!
We are presently impacting around 6000 lives through donations and my small retirement. We have feeding centers, a school, a scholarship program, and English/discipleship classes, Bible studies, and a soccer team, to name a few things we do. But there is so much more…
1. We need to get the kids out of the dump. To do that, we need property in the country for an orphanage. We need to get them out of their toxic environment.
2. Just having the property and building isn’t enough. It costs a lot of money for transportation, health care, schooling, lots more staff, feeding etc. I’d even like to bring in unwed pregnant and mothers who are not getting the proper prenatal or after care to this sanctuary.
3. Build an “Old Folks’ Home” on the same property. Another neglected part of society in the dump. I see the vision for it to be a good fit. With age comes wisdom that can be imparted to the young. These older people are still viable and can contribute to the vision if they are onsite by helping at the daycare center, supporting young mothers as adopted grandparents, Teaching bible studies, there is so much they have to offer if we listen.
4. And of course, after its success here, to replicate this model in other parts of Nicaragua and Globally.
We are haunted by the cries of all of God’s children. From -9 months (conception) to 120 years old. Our vision is to help as many as our resources permit, for as long as God permits and PHCF exists.
Here is where you become a part of the Vision. As we all know, It all costs money. Not only to set it up, but for operating costs. Your prayers and donations will make this Vision a reality. These children of God Thank You!

7. AS WE ARE STILL STRIVING WITH THE GOVERNMENTAL PAPERWORK, AMONG OF WHICH IS FOR PERMISSION TO HAVE AN ORPHANAGE-OLDFOLKS HOME IN THE MANAGUA CITY LIMITS. THE CPA PAPERWORK AND ACCOUNTABILITY IS ESPECICALLY TOUGH. WE HAVE HAD TO DOUBLE OUR CPA´S PAY AGAIN.
8. AS WE ARE WAITING ON THE LORD TO PROVIDE THE MONEY AND THE PERFECT RESOURCES FOR ALL THE FULL TIME STAFF, DOCTOR, NURSE, AIDES, BUS ETC THAT COME WITH A FARM THAT HAS ROOM FOR AN ORPHANAGE AND AN OLD FOLKS HOME ON IT, AS WELL AS THE PROPERTY ITSELF. EVEN WITH JUST AN ORPHANAGE HERE, OUR STAFF WILL ALMOST HAVE TO DOUBLE IN SIZE PER NICARAGUAN REGULATIONS
A TALL ORDER, BUT NOTHING IS TOO BIG FOR GOD, NOT EVEN DIFFICULT.
