Ambassadors

2 Corinthians 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.

An ambassador is by definition is an accredited diplomat sent by a country as its official representative to a foreign country.  An emissary.  The first impression (Which is only possible  once.)  We are representatives of heaven to the foreign country of planet earth.   When we got saved we became citizens of heaven.   Our frowns should turn to smiles.   Our grumpiness replaced by welcoming kindness and grace.  We should be in good hygene and dress as well as possible.

Earth is no longer our home.  You are no longer welcome to make yourself at home. Don´t put your feet on the coffee table and take people for granted.  We are guests.

When we get saved we are immediately left here as as ambassadors.   What an honor.  We are only here to pray for others, so they be reconciled with God.   What an honor.  What our souls want is to go to heaven to be with God, but what God wants is for us to stay here for ‘others’.  We want to go to heaven but our orders are for here.

Phil 1:23 For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better.

We do have choices though.   Do we speak thoughtfully or incorrectly? Do we dress and act like ambassadors or do we just dress and act like sloppy tourists?   Is our speech correct and honorable?   Is our spanish correct castellano or barely understandable Spanglish?   Are we diligently teaching Christ and Him crucified to every single person we come in contactact with, or do we happhazardly dance through life doing nothing?   Do we intentionally pray for everyone we meet after we meet them or just seek self amuzement, forgetting about all them.  Out of sight out of mind.   Ambassadors of Christ do all of the above, all the time.  They finish well, bringing God all the glory.

As Christians—first and foremost in relation to what the world sees—we are to be ambassadors for Christ. We are people called by God to represent Him to a lost and dying (secular) world, and as we become more and more like Jesus (2 Corinthians 3:18), the world will see His character in and through us.

2 Corinthians 3:18 And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

We are called to be doers of the word.   In school, mostly shop or arts, you saw what was expected and you did it.   It was easy.  Sounds easy, but only some Christians I know are intentionally doing the word.  Love your neighbors, don’t gossip, don’t covet, joyous giving to me is a natural, but we are told to do it.  Absolutely NO racism.  Do you know race isn´t even mentioned in the Bible?  It`s a satanic term meant to divide.  Love, absolutely love everyone.  Let God figure out the rest.

James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

As ambassadors we are called to a higher calling. To be doers not only of the Word, but of our daily devotions.   Our devotions take us to a higher place, a higher calling.   In my devotions I see multitudes of sober drunks, married prostitutes, street children well taken care of.   That is the work of an ambassador for Christ.  It’s a high calling, not just geting by.  Also an ambassador is no to get into foolish arguments about things not clearly spelled out in the Bible.  There`s a reason that God wasn´t clear, ambassadors stay out of it. (Bible wars I call them).

Acts 1:7  “It is not for you to know the times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority”.

There’s no rest for an ambassador except in Jesus.   You´re not allowed to let your guard down when you´re on vacation. There are no retirement homes for ambassadors.  If they find themselves in one, they are now ambassadors in the retirement home. We rest when and if we hear the words

Matthew 25:21 KJV – His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many.

I only want to be a good ambassador.  Faithful and diligent of what He gives me!  I want Him to give me a lot in the world to be faithful over. The work is huge.   Not a lot of helpers.  My biggest helper is my beloved Winnie.  Pray for her health.  This is not easy. But God will provide.  He knows my heart.

Matthew 9:38 Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

Love in Christ
