amer I CAN!
Phillipians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me
Self-talk is not self-thought. You gotta say it like you mean it. Not just ‘think you can’. You have to put it out there, where people can hear you. You have committed yourself once you confess it with your mouth (not your thoughts).
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
When I got saved I was worried about being laughed at and ridiculed. I made a ‘deal’ with God, in my mind. I told Him that I would ‘accept Him’ but I was going to be a ‘quiet Christian’. That lasted about 3 seconds. I was filled with so much joy that I couldn’t shut up about Jesus! I wasn’t worried about what others thought, or their ridicule, I felt sorry for them and truly feared for their souls. Still do. ‘Quiet Christians’ don’t exist, because a sign of being saved is being concerned about people’s souls. Saved doctors, lawyers, mechanics now should become full time missionaries. Their careers become their part time jobs.
Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
I have found that as long as I am in the center of God’s will, I am completely protected. I keep on forgetting that and have to be continuously reminded. The blood of the Lamb (past, present and future) and the Word of our testimony is our strength. If Jesus hadn’t died for our sins, and resurrected from the dead, we wouldn’t have a testimony about how Jesus rose us from the dead!
Revelations 12:10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
So, what does all of this have to do with the title, amer I CAN? First off, because Amer I CAN s are resilient, as the name infers. North Amer I Can s as well as Central Amer I CAN s have a built in I CAN attitude, inspired by God, by whom we were founded.
2nd. Because the Revelation of Jesus Christ is the last book of the Bible, recording our temporary, fleeting 120 years or so of life. Just a blink of an eye. It says at the end that we win against Sayan’s wiles because of our confession and belief in Jesus.
3rd. As an American, our heritage is of sending the most missionaries around the world. American ends in I CAN. It’s our confession. I can do all things in Christ. I can win souls, be a good testimony, love the unlovable, be available to the whosoevers and endure ALL THINGS TO THE END. We CAN do all things through Christ.
Matthew 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
PRAYER REQUEST! So the government is confiscating our cars after all. We will be without wheels. 🙁 $5000 is the minimum a decent used car costs down here!! 🙁 This is not a plea for money. Only prayer. I am at peace that God already has a solution. BTW YOUR PRAYERS WORKED! I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER NOW!!
