Matthew 6:11 KJV Give us this day our daily BREAD!
Thanks to the American colloquialisms, BREAD can mean 1 of 3 things. Food, Money, or the Word of God. Actually another name for Jesus is the BREAD OF LIFE.
Let’s ask for all 3 things, because we need everyone of them, EVERY DAY! One day without any of the 3 is difficult.
1. FOOD. Give us today our daily FOOD. Jesus loved to eat. In fact they called Him a glutton! ALL THE DISCIPLES LOVED TO EAT. They got yelled at once cause they were so hungry that they forgot to wash their hands before they chowed down. Happy people eat, and they LOVE to eat with other happy people. They want to eat. They need to eat. And they need to fellowship. Eating’s a good way to do both. Back in those days eating was necessary to live not only nutritionally, but emotionally, socially and spiritually as well. It is true more now than ever. As a missionary I go door to door a lot. If an American staying with me has medical limits about what they can ingest, plainly squeamish or refuses to eat meat, gluten, dairy, sugar, etc. I don’t take them with me on house calls. The poor people always offer something when you go into their houses. Rich people MIGHT offer you a glass of water (usually not though) but a poor family will kill their last chicken to feed you as soon as they see you walking up to their home. My ministry can not permit anyone making another person feel bad. Refusing anything offered by a poor person is a grave insult. Food means not only eating to stay alive but also as a binder of relationships. We need nutrition and relationships daily.
2. MONEY! Money is good! I love being able to pay bills and to bless others. The best way to fight poverty is to not be poor. We all need money every day. It sounds unspiritual but PureHeart couldn’t do what we do without it. Nor could any denomination, Mother Theresa nor even Jesus’ disciples (Judas was the treasurer, there were financial needs, and people gave them money). Paul ask for donations for the struggling church, plus others supported him. Peter paid taxes with money that was found in the mouth of a fish. The early church hiding in the catacombs was fed by the rich Roman Christians topside. Not even the early Israelites could do without money! Remember when Moses led them into the desert? It costs money to travel, even if you are walking. About 2,000,000 Israelites went off to the desert. They had been slaves for over 10 generations. They owned nothing, they had nothing! But the Egyptians gladly shoved money and gold at them as they were leaving, making them millionaires before they left. God loves making the righteous rich, because He knows a rich righteous person will give his excess to help others to advance the Kingdom of God. God has nothing against making His children rich. He does have something against covetousness though. The only person satan hates more than a righteous man is a rich righteous man.
3. BIBLE. Jesus IS the Word of God. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. That is why the Bible is called BREAD among some Christians. Jesus said “I am the Bread of Life” (John 6:35). That is one of the seven “I Am” statements of Jesus. Jesus used the same phrase “I AM” in seven declarations about Himself. In all seven, He combines I AM with tremendous metaphors which express that we need Him daily, because I AM means He is God. All appear in the book of John. Saying ‘I AM’ means the Jesus was saying that He IS the GREAT I AM! We need Jesus (God) in every aspect of our lives. He holds the universe together. Bread means the Word of God, The Holy Bible, which also means Jesus as well. As bread, the Word of God is spiritual food. Talking about the Word as food as well, the Word is described as milk (1 Peter 2:2) and meat. (Hebrews 5:11-14). We need this spiritual food every day. Jesus talking to us through His Holy Word IS SPIRITUAL FOOD that we need daily.
JESUS SAID IT BEST, When he was fasting for 40 days and tempted by satan He said not only do we need bread, but we need God’s Word.
Matthew 4:4
But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘MAN SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE, BUT ON EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD.’
God, GIVE US TODAY OUR FOOD, OUR MONEY, AND YOU

Mateo 6:11 RV Danos hoy nuestro PAN diario…
1. Danos hoy nuestro ALIMENTO diario. Jesús amaba comer. TODOS LOS DISCÍPULOS AMBAN A COMER. La gente feliz come.
Mateo 4: 4 Pero Él respondió y dijo: “Está escrito: ‘EL HOMBRE NO VIVIRÁ de PAN SOLO, PERO EN TODAS LAS PALABRAS QUE PROCEDEN FUERA DE LA BOCA DE DIOS'”.
