Death.
There are a lot worse things.
John 12:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it dies, it bringeth forth much fruit.
Talking about being born again, blood bought Christians of course. For believers death isn’t that bad. Death is an inconvenience. A pin prick, for us according to Paul. He actually had died from being stoned to death previously.
1 Corinthians 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
I just spent two months in a rehab center for geriatrics. An eye opening experience for me. I lost two sweet neighbors (1 a month). It affected me in two ways.
1. Realizing my own mortality. Re-establishing my goals. Now my only goal in life is to hear ‘well done, good and faithful servant!’
Mathew 5:23 The Lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
2.Knowing that we will all experience death if the Lord delays His return, evangelism is critical. Winning souls for eternity is #1 in my book. Everything is at stake! Paul says the worst thing we can experience on earth can’t be compared to the glory that awaits us in heaven!
Romans 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
