GO!

Go!

Spiritual Warfare In 2 Letters

Luke 4:35 But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!” And when the demon had thrown him in their midst, it came out of him and did not hurt

When I got saved, Jesus told me to ‘go’ so I went!   Things have never been the same.  Isn’t exactly easy, but I have no regrets.

Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit

Well, Jesus said ‘Go’ to demons and illness as well, but used more than two letters here.  But the idea is the same.   He basically said to the demon  ‘shut up and get out’. Same with Peter’s mother in law when He rebuked her fever.   He said to the fever ‘GO’!   The fever left.   The demon left.

Luke 4:39 … “And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them

I have been dealing with several heavy things since I came back to Nicaragua.  Spiritual oppression has been palpable.

We have problems with the Nicaraguan government’s legal/paperwork/accounting to be able to stay and minister in the dump, our school here is safe (but a lot of work), our basic ministry needs, the extra charities we do here, our son’s tuition is due the 5th to be able to finish up his pilot’s license/college degree (he’s a straight A student. His only passion is flying, and I’d hate to see him get kicked out of the flight degree program right before finishing.  This is the first time he told me he is praying.  We’re all worried, if anyone knows of financial student aid for Missionary Kids please let us know asap), our own basic finances for the ministry, VA paperwork, my survivor’s guilt etc.

Since I got home I have had to battle depression, panic attacks and anxiety all at the same time.  (Not very Godly, forgive me).  I am unaccustomed to feeling this way. Horrible.

Two concerned friends called me back to back today.  Really encouraging phone calls.

The first caller simply told me to tell these feelings (the moment they pop into my head) to ‘GO’ in the name of Jesus!   Out loud.  As in ‘shut up and get out’! The exact moment the depression (past), panic (present) or anxiety (future) creeps into my mind, command it to ‘Go’.   Don’t fight thoughts with thoughts he said.  Open your mouth and say ‘GO’!  I tried it and it really works.

Eph 4:28 Neither give place to the devil

The second friend told me to focus on the Kingdom of God.   Jesus spoke on it a lot!!!  Never realized it!  Focusing on God’s Kingdom isn’t as easy as it sounds.   The Kingdom of God is the Kingship of Christ and the Kingdom of heaven is a location.  Both are different.   Kingdom of God is mentioned 70 times, Kingdom of heaven, 32 times (Mostly in Matthew).

Try to spend as much time in the Kingdom of God as possible by praying in the spirit.   The Kingdom of God is Christ taking His rightful place on the throne as King of King and Lord of Lords, along with his heavenly hosts. In easier language, the Kingdom of Heaven is a location and the Kingdom of God is the One who reigns over Heaven.

Tough times are coming for all of us I believe.   Being Kingdom of God minded will be needed.  It requires praying alone, a lot.   Alone time with God is necessary, no multitasking.  No distractions.  Loving Him and His perfection.  It is to me like going into a strong tower.

I’ve been trying to focus on the Kingdom of God, and hopefully teaching about it, but it’s difficult.   ‘Thy Kingdom Come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven’! Think about that.   It’s heavy.  But your mind is off your personal problems and feelings while you’re trying to figure it out.   Plus, when you think about Him, praise comes easier.

Psalm 95:2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.

God’s name is His fame.  What He’s known for.  His reputation.  Focus on God’s name, and you are in His strong tower of His Kingdom and you can safely tell Satan to ‘GO’!

Proverbs 18:10 The name of the Lord is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe
