Friends
Jesus said “I no longer call you slaves, because a slave does not know what his master is doing. I have called you friends, because I have told you everything I have heard from my Father” (John 15:15)
Here’s a mind blowing fact, some of your best friends you haven’t even met yet. I am always shocked when I want to introduce someone to a person and they don’t want to meet. I have never met someone who wasn’t interesting. Not all are my friends of course, but it is a joy to meet them.
One of my oldest and dearest friends, Tony Byler did me the favor of taking me to a small revival. Jr introduced me to Jesus on October 19, 1974. Bob Sepkovich (Góspel House, Broadway Ave. Cleveland) was holding a campaign in an Assemblies of God in Chardon Ohio. I went forward there. (And many times afterwards)
1. True Friends show their friends Jesus by taking them to Him.
John 1:42. And he brought him to Jesus
This whole health obstacle has shown me a lot of friends that I hadn’t thought of in years. Literally they came out of the woodwork, offering donations, help, good advice, prayers, lodging and transportation.
2. Friends show Jesus to their friends by never abandoning them.
Hebrews 13:5 for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Jesus’ love for us doesn’t change. No matter how hard we blow it. All He asks is that we repent and believe that He died for our sins and that He rise from the dead, and He happily forgives us. He wants us in heaven with Him.
3. Friends show Jesus to their friends by loving them, and choosing their company no matter how bad they blow it.
Mark 1:15 repent ye, and believe the gospel.
Here’s the hitch. You ever notice that we we tend to overlook our friends faults? I know at PureHeartChildren’sFund, we overlook the kids faults and our own faults just to carry on. But Gods is faultless and just. He can’t be winking at our sins. He doesn’t. Jesus paid it all for us. We can’t pay for our sins, more correct then. We can ask for forgiveness from others, but we still sinned. Only through the shed blood of Jesus on the cross of Calvary can we be forgiven. We can’t even take credit for having faith and believing. It’s all a gift.
God made justified because He gave the the faith and belief of His Son. What a good God.
True Christianity recognizes that we only are justified because of what Jesus (our best friend) did on the Cross for us. Our Friend, Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is the only reason we can have hope. Not by our works. Not out goodness but by our faith in Him. That’s what we teach the kids at PureHeartChildren’sFund. That why we accept everyone and anyone. We ALL need a Savior. We are all doomed without Grace (a free gift).
God’s Word says that we are saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus and not by our own efforts or works (Ephesians 2:8-9). Grace Alone. Faith Alone. Grace alone means that God loves, forgives, and saves us not because of who we are or what we do, but because of the work of Christ.
Update! In Salt Lake City right now getting treatment for this little -c- nuisance. Miss my wife Winnie Peters, she’s holding down the fort in Nicaragua. What a beautiful wife, friend and partner God has blessed me with.
There is a method to my madness.
Mission objectives
1. Bring glory to God
2. Finish the race well
3. Aleve as much suffering as possible
4. Be a good neighbor by loving my neighbors
5. Do unto others as I would have them do unto me
6. Teaching the love of God
7. Showing others the mercy and grace of God
8. Getting Nicaraguans, and everyone else saved
9. Making PureHeartChildren’sFund duplicatable
10. Inspiring other Christians to do the same
But, why pictures? It is simple.
pictures = stories = more donations = mote blessing= more food = more opportunities and reminders for others to help this work of God = more blessings to supporters and friends of PureHeartChildren’sFund
Why so many? Because all you need is one picture to resonate in the soul of someone, and I have no idea who that person is or what picture that may be.
I only know to not give up in doing good (what God has specifically shown me to do)
Galatians 6:9
