I feel sorry for our children and for worldly people. There is nothing to look forward to with certainty in this world right now. The future is so uncertain. We are one insane terrorist away from losing airlines or the internet or probably both. Anything the media says is a lie, as well as what most of our leaders say. What can we look forward to? Retirement? Good luck with that. I am in rehab. But most of it is a retirement facility. This is not a place to look forward to. One man in his 70’s, massively overweight, about to lose both legs, only talks about gold prices. What joy is there in being rich if you’re a double amputee? Absolutely nothing to look forward to. And I am in the best rehab in the world. Yet surrounded by death. But I have the answer. Get saved! Every day I wake up looking forward to leading someone to the Lord. To discipline them (although most are 30 years older than me). I am looking forward to going home to winnie. Most importantly, I am looking forward to going home to heaven, to be with Jesus. To know Him face to face.
We (born again Christians) have something to look forward to. No one else does. I know I am narrow minded but I am saved. Here are some good verses about our blessed hope. Our ‘something to look forward to’.
1 Peter 1:3-5:
This passage highlights the “living hope” we have through Jesus’ resurrection, emphasizing an “imperishable, undefiled, and unfading inheritance” that is “reserved in heaven”. It assures believers that they are being guarded by God’s power, awaiting a salvation that will be revealed in the end.
Colossians 3:1-4:
This passage encourages believers to “set your minds on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God”. It suggests that our true hope and focus should be on the spiritual realm, where Christ is.
1 John 5:13-14:
This passage assures believers that they have eternal life through faith in Jesus and that God hears their prayers when they ask according to His will.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18:
This passage emphasizes the importance of focusing on the unseen, eternal things rather than the fleeting, visible ones. It suggests that our current suffering is temporary and will lead to an eternal weight of glory.
Romans 15:13:
This verse prays that the God of hope will fill believers with joy and peace, and that they may overflow with hope by the power of God
