Visited

(por favor, desplácese hacia abajo para español)

 Matthew 25:36
I was naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

The original Greek word for visited means literally, to look out for.  It is also gerund, meaning NOT just one time.

J Vernon McGee said, “Don’t worry about the parts of the Bible that you don’t understand, worry about the parts of the Bible that you do.”

I once went to a mission that inferred by their name that they feed the hungry people.  I went and asked them for rice for our children feeding centers in the boonies, Winner home, and dump.  They gave me an hour lecture on whatJesus really meant when He said to feed the hungry.  Turns out they only give out tracts.

Theologians will write thesis and great dissertations about what feeding thehungry, visiting the sick & prisoners really mean.  I also hear them explain what‘God is Love‘ really means, ‘Exactly Who Is Our Neighbor?’, and ‘How the good Samaritan really wasn’t’… the list goes on.  Solomon in Eccl. 12:12 warns about too much studying.

Book smart people sometimes justify their actions, or lack there of, by raising great arguments which confuse you.  Don’t visit those guys.  Don’t let them visit you, or fb you, or # you.  Run!

Titus 3:9
But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law….

An old pentecostal brother of mine, Roger Stiltner, once told me, “I am just going to read the Bible and believe what it says.”  Yes!

Matthew 25:36 says, in my take, Visit, or look out for your neighbor.  Visiting isn’t just a check in your agenda book or to do list that takes a minute to complete.  It is going, visiting (gerund, continuously) until that person is ok.

We have neighbors, a mom and her son who were hit by a bus a couple days ago.  5 year old Angelito went to be with Jesus.

Today we went to see the family, after the funeral of their little boy.  When the crowds of a wake leave, the silence is deafening, God guided us there I am sure.

Since the accident, the mother has been sitting in the same weird way all the time.  We finally brought it up.  She said she couldn’t move very well.  She was in excruciating pain.

Everyone was so worried about her mental health (because of her loss) that we forgot about the fact that she was hit by that same bus that killed her son right before her eyes.

We had the honor of driving Evelyn (the mom) to the ER with her husband Maximo.  Angel was their only child, both are heartbroken.  Our problems are so small comparatively, right?  Pray for them.

Pray for opportunities to cloth, feed, visit, and help other people.  Be on the look out for other people who need looking out for, in the name of Jesus.

People call me crazy because I worry about the ‘invisible people’.  Deannie Jr says it’s concerning that all the street people call me ‘pastor’.  That is because I try to look out for them.  Pastors by definition should do that.

Romans 15:1
We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves.

Aren’t you glad that the strongest of the strong, Jesus Christ, visited us in thepast, present, and future.  He is looking out for us, even as I write!

Jesus is visiting us, and helping us, just as He did in Mark 1+2.  Healed the sick and injured.  Cast demons out of the people, but where were all the people when He was being crucified 3 short years later?  Man is fickle, but God is not!  Praise Him!!

Psalm 121:8
The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

Visitaba

No visites a esos tipos personas.
